Thanksgiving

Today I am not so much thankful for the things I have been given as I am for the things God has withheld from me so that I can see Him more clearly and trust Him more faithfully. I am not so much thankful for the way God has worked through me this year as I am the way He has worked in spite of me, and the way He has moved without me. Not that I am shirking my responsibility, but I always need reminding that God is God and I am not. I am also thankful for those things that give me angst but also bring great joy when I step back and see how God speaks through them and uses them.

Give thanks in everything, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess.5:18.
