Real Dilemma

Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God. (Romans 13:1) I find myself in a real dilemma. We have elected a president who, though confessing Christ as Lord and Savior, espouses some convictions and values that are contrary to the Word written by his Lord and Savior. Of course that’s not unique to him. Our churches are full of folks like that. But the president could very well bring some of his unbiblical values to bear on our country. If you read on in Romans 13, as Christ-followers we must submit to our government that he represents and administrates. Because to do so is ultimately to submit to God. I find comfort in God’s ultimate authority. But its tough to be a citizen of heaven, and have to live here, too. You know what I mean?
