Inauguration Eve
Posted by chuck maxwell on January 19th, 2009 filed in Chuck's blogIn one sense, President Obama is a success before he makes one single decision. The historical significance of the first black president will not be lost, even if I disagree with some his ideology and his policy. I am grateful to be living in this season of America’s story. And as Barak Obama begins his administration, I pray that he knows…
Proverbs 21:1-3,
1 A king’s heart is a water channel in the LORD’s hand: He directs it wherever He chooses.
2 All the ways of a man seem right to him, but the LORD evaluates the motives.
3 Doing what is righteous and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
And I pray that I remember, 1 Timothy 2:1-4,
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
May God’s glory be known in our land through the leadership of our new president.
